Assistant Instructor
Kay is a wife and a busy mother of three, and committing to anything outside of her daily routine can sometimes feel unimaginable. Although she had some prior experience in various forms of martial arts, it wasn’t until she discovered Gracie University and Bushin Martial Arts Academy that she began to recognize the importance and inviting nature of jiu-jitsu. Inspired by its transformative and empowering benefits, Kay and her family fell in love with the practice and embarked on their journey together in the Fall of 2021.
Since then, Kay has earned the Gracie Combatives Belt and Women Empowered Belt in the winter of 2023, followed by achieving her Blue Belt in the summer of 2024. She graduated from the Instructor Certification Program at Gracie University with the class of July 2024. Her jiu-jitsu journey has been enriched by a comprehensive curriculum, inspiring instructors, dedicated mentors, fellow classmates, and the overall camaraderie of the dojo. Kay is grateful to continue this journey and feels privileged to share her knowledge and give back to others.
