Ryan began his martial arts journey at the age of 5, training in Chishin-Ryu Karate-do, where he earned the Black Belt rank of Shodan, recognized by Hamada, Hanshi of Bushin-Kan Dojo, USA Division. His commitment to physical fitness continued as he became an alumnus wrestler at Benedictine College Preparatory. Currently, Ryan is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at James Madison University, where he not only hones his jiu-jitsu skills but also leads self-defense instruction for JMU Empowered3 students, helping them enhance their physical and mental well-being.
In 2022, Ryan earned his Instructor Certification in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu from the esteemed Gracie Jiu-Jitsu University Headquarters in Torrance, California. He was subsequently awarded his Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt by renowned instructors Ryron and Rener Gracie. With a solid foundation in both karate and jiu-jitsu, Ryan is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and passion for martial arts with his students.
